What is it?

GeoExchange technology (also known as geothermal heat pumps or ground source heat pumps) is a GREEN TECHNOLOGY  that uses the natural temperature of the earth to heat or cool a home or other building, and to heat domestic water at a lower cost.

In winter, a water solution circulating through pipes buried in the ground absorbs heat from the earth and carries it into the home. The system inside the home or building uses a heat pump to concentrate the earth’s energy, transfer it to air circulated through standard ductwork, and fill the interior with warmth.

In summer, the process is reversed to cool the building: heat is extracted from the air inside, expelled to the underground piping, and absorbed by the earth.

Service:

We at Earthbound Energy Resources (a division of Best Water and Air)  install, maintain, and repair all types of GeoExchange systems for residential and commercial applications, including vertical loop, horizontal loop, open loop, and pond loop piping configurations.

Stimulus Bill Increases Homeowner Tax Credit

The Stimulus Bill signed by the President February 17th eliminates the $2,000 limit on the 30% tax credit for homeowners who install geothexchange systems in 2009 and later years.

So, for example, if a homeowner pays $15,000 for a GeoExchange system installed in 2009, a tax credit of $4,500 could apply.

(for systems placed into service in 2008, the $2,000 limit still applies)
